I am from a government university that is ranked number 1 in my state.
We‘ve had three students commit suicide in the past two months. The
pressures faced by most of us are so very severe. People need to know the
plight of students like us. I hope there is more awareness on the increasing
rate of suicides amongst students due to academic pressure.

M any times, suicidal thoughts come in my mind. I stop myself every time
just by thinking that I am the only source of income for my family. I am 29 and
not married. My younger sister, aged 25, has a boyfriend who asked my
parents for her hand in marriage. My parents have asked her to wait because
they want my wedding to happen first.
My dad lost everything in his business 14 years ago and hasn‘t recovered from
that shock. I tried to get into a relationship as well but nothing worked out. I
