W hen I was a teenager, an old man followed me from my school to my house,
pinching my breasts. I was silent the irst time it happened but the whole night, this
incident haunted me. The next day, I got up and told my parents about this.
My mom’s advice was to slap him 10 times and my dad was silent. The same day,
while coming back from school, the old man was there again and I was very tense
and was thinking of what to do. Just then, my dad, my hero, stood next to me on his
bike and I hit the old man and he never bothered me again.

I am a victim of child abuse by a woman. I lost my father at age 9 and then to
support my mom and myself, I took up a job as a milk delivery boy. One lady, who
made sweetmeats from milk, asked me to deliver milk to her home. She abused me
every day. She asked me to touch her, suck her and she did a lot to me also.
Till today, I have not told anyone and you know why? I was the head of my family
at age 9–10 and my poor, widowed mother had no strength to listen to my situation.
At that age, I did not know what I was doing and what was wrong and right. The
milk dairy was not taking back unsold milk and my abuser used to buy all leftover
milk from me. For our survival, I was forced to do this till I inished my college
study, for a good 8–9 years. Even women can be responsible for child sexual abuse.

I live in the UK and have suffered from child sexual abuse at the age of 5 by
two close relatives who stopped it eventually. My life has been affected a lot. My
parents said that the abuse was my fault so I studied only up to a basic level and
then my family got me married. I then suffered from domestic violence and my
husband didn’t care for me nor our child. However, I am proud to say that I now
have my own job, house and car and I am happy.
