W hat should one do if this has been done by her own biological father? The worst

nightmare of a woman. I’m 32 and married with 3 children. At one point of my life,
I had to tell the truth to my husband. I don’t talk to my parents as when I told my
mum, she never believed me and I myself don’t have any proof of it. He denies that
he has ever done anything like this. At such a time, what should a woman do?

It is possible that when you or your family member confronts the
abuser, he/she will resort to denial, make excuses or blame you in-
stead. This can be very painful. But remember that his/her denial
does not change your truth.

Abuse of any type is entirely the abuser’s responsibility!
Abuse of any type is entirely the abuser’s responsibility!

Abuse of any type is entirely the abuser’s responsibility!

This cannot be emphasised enough.

Also, confront the abuser only if you think it will help you in your
healing process and when you are prepared for the consequences.
Not confronting the abuser does not mean that you are a coward.
